The night was cold and yet the being standing under the moon was only wearing a t-shirt that hugged her. The light of the moon glimmered off the queens pale skin, while the crisp breeze played with her long locks. Lanny turned to look around the meadow she played in as a young princess.
The war was changing things, and yet she was able to find her favourite place still filled with peace, it calmed her. Slim hands pulling at her locks as she stared up into the moons own gaze. A shift of a bush had her eyes coming down to look. The growl that reached her was not of a wolf, but of a mountian lion.
And it prowled closer.....

Erun waited. He was ready for the creature. He slowly pulled out a Black Steel Knife. A quiet hiss was heard. He was watching his Queen from a nearby bush.He felt the chill breeze but kept his silent Vigil. The moon shined down on him but he was just a black figure in the darkness, waiting for whatever dared to attack his queen.

Lanny turned her head away when she smelt blood, she wrinkled her noise at the smell. Before she turned to look where her head guard was hiding. "Erun?" She asked, her voice a smooth rumble in the night as she spoke. She prowled closer with a grace purely vampiric, before she stopped and watched the shadows.
Erun was the best guard she had ever had, he was deadly and skilled at his art.

"Im here."Erun replies in a hushed voice. He slowly steps out of the shadows. Despite being in Plain sight he was still hard to see. Erun's eyes move quickly from side to side searching for any danger but his body did not show this.

Lanny looked upon her head guard, she shook her head slightly to look up at the moon, with his dark clothing he was already hard to see but with the shadows the Queen had no hope of seeing him, even with her eye sight. "Have there been any attacks on the smaller clans?" She asked him.

"Don't believe so." Erun says. He was just her bodyguard he didn't know or care about the other clans. His many duty was to protect the queen at all costs. "Should check with the scouts." He then says in his normal quiet voice. He wiped his knife clean and put it back in its sheath. He kept one hand on it just in case though...

The queen shifted on her feet to face him once more, she tilted her head and looked at him with shining eyes. She walked closer to him to stand before him. "Well then, have the nights been quiet? How many attacks on the main house have there been?" She asked, looking up at him but then looking away to look out over the meadow.

"It has indeed been quiet and I haven't heard of any attacks." Erun says calmly. "Why are you so worried?" Erun asks.He moves closer to his queen and puts a hand on her shoulder. A cloud passed over the moon making the scenery really dark for a few minutes...

The queen didn't know her self what was bothering her, but she knew she was bothered. She was pulled from her musings when the heavy weight of his hand rested on her shoulder. Even when the moon was covered by the clouds, Lanny's eyes still glimmered in the darkness. She sighed and brushed her hair out of her face, "theres something there, on the edges of my senses. And yet it never appears, I do not like that feeling. I've even gone to the Elves, tried to hunt down a Secret. Nothing works, the emotion and sense that something is playing with my senses. " She paused and sighed, not looking as regal as she usually was when she was surrounded by the elders.
"Its un-nerving."

"We are all Unnerving to some extent."Erun said. "You shouldn't let this fear overcome you. Find something to keep your mind off of it but still be aware."He continues. The cloud passes. A slight wind blows and for a second Erun's silver eyes shine in the Darkness, then the wind stops and his eyes are hidden once more.

"Filled with advice and knowledge as usual." She said to him, a smile on her slim slightly red lips. Her eyes looked into his silver ones shining under the light of the moon. Eye gleaming she looked back over the meadow, she turned from him for a moment tugging a rose from a bush the thorns bitting into the skin of her fingers. Her blood slipped down her finger before the wound healed.
Lanny held the rose in her hands, before she looked up at him. "Come some where with me?" She asked him.

Erun shrugs. "Well I am twenty years older then you. Maybe when you get to my age one day you will be just as full of knowledge." Erun says with a small grin. "Yes I will go with you."

Although the queen didn't show it, she was relieved that she would not be alone. She turned on her heel and started walking down a very known path for her, but not for many others. The dirt was barely turned, and the bushes were what controlled the path. Soon the moon light glimmered off limestone. The name was weather worn but the date was set over 900 years ago.
Lanny put the rose on the stone, and pressed a kiss onto the stone. "Mother. Father." She said before she stood up straight and moved back to his side.

Erun nods to Lanny. "I Still feel sorry for you, Lanny."Erun says, He had never known what it was like to have a mother or father. He was orphaned so he didn't really know what to say to her. "They will always be in you heart." Erun says softly.

Lanny didn't say a word but there was a softening to her stance, like with his words a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She smiled though, it was a pleased smile. Before it left her lips, "Werewolves, knocked them unconsious and then woke them up just as the first rays of the sun were about touching their feet. They were trying to beat the sun home when it happened." She explained, before her hand was raising and patting his shoulder.
"Shall we go, even though I know you can protect me by yourself, the council does not like it." She seemed to pout at the end before she lost the pout.
